A severe thunderstorm caused a tree to fall on a house in Easley, SC. The tree branch punctured the roof and into multiple rooms and closets. The holes created by the tree branch allowed rain water into the home, causing damage to the ceiling, carpet, floors, attic crawlspace, the furniture, and belongings in the impacted rooms. The tree limb also damaged the connection from the home to the power lines knocking out power for almost a week. SERVPRO of East Greenville County was able to begin water/storm damage steps as soon as the tree was safely removed. The quick action also prevented microbial growth from developing during multiple weeks of humid conditions.
