According to the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), which sets the standards for the cleaning industry and water damage recuperation education, there are three stages or kinds of water involved in damages. They encompass:

Category 1: Clean water

This water harm is from sanitary assets, including an overflowing sink or bathtub.

Category 2: Greywater 

This water is from sources that might make you uncomfortable or ill if ingested. Washing machines or dishwashers.

Category 3: Blackwater

This is the worst type of water and could cause excessive contamination if ingested. Sewer backups or flooded rivers.
