Storm Damage to Home in Taylor's, SC
A hailstorm in Taylors, SC caused damage to the roof of a local home. Hail was reported up to 1.25 inches, roughly the size of a half dollar, and punctured holes in several areas of the roof. Heavy rains followed for multiple days, and the roof began to leak in the master bedroom, leading to the walls and carpet absorbing a substantial amount of water. SERVPRO of East Greenville County took swift action to dry and preserve as much of the impacted area as possible. The carpet was successfully recovered, but the insulation and drywall against the exterior wall and around a support column had to be removed. SERVPRO was able to minimize the areas that needed to be replaced and made sure that the remaining materials were at dry standard. This would prevent any future issues such as microbial growth and keep repair costs low for the homeowner.
