Flooded Kitchen in Duncan, SC

A dishwasher malfunctioned and flooded a home in Duncan, SC; the appliance pumped hundreds of gallons of water into the kitchen and bathroom below it. The cabinets and walls surrounding the dishwasher wicked water over 1 inch and ceiling, walls, and vanity of the bathroom below were also affected. SERVPRO of East Greenville County stored all the contents of the cabinets and vanity and removed them from the affected area to dry them. Sections of the kitchen flooring had to be removed to return the sub-floor to dry standard. The bathroom walls were also cut outto dry the support structure. The rest of the impacted areas were restored to dry standard, and the homeowner’s cost was significantly lower than they would be if they had to replace everything that was exposed to water.
